Fire expansion mortar
Protecta® EX Mortar is a dry white powder composed of inorganic compounds and perlite. The mixture prevents the spread of fire and smoke through openings in fireproof walls and floors, including openings created by penetrations.
Properties
- Classification for walls and floors of concrete, bricks, plaster, etc.
- The product is suitable for cables, cable harnesses, cable ducts, cable trays; also for steel, copper, alupex and plastic pipes and air ducts
- Easy application with the creation of a very smooth surface
- High degree of mechanical resistance: the material has a high load capacity even without reinforcement
- A primer is not required before application to most substrates of building materials: however, metal parts in contact with the seal must be protected against corrosion.
- The product is suitable for most surfaces, including concrete, bricks, steel, plastics, etc. However, it is not suitable for door frames or service openings that move
- The product is certified for use in plasterboard walls, but for these applications it is recommended to use Protecta® FR Board thermal insulation.
- Curing within 1 hour
- The specification of the fire properties of the material was determined after 1 month of curing
- Almost unlimited storage time (if suitable conditions are met)
Soundproofing evaluation
- Rw 64 dB - One-sided applications with a thickness ≥ 50 mm in the form of a linear seal
- Rw 64 dB - Double-sided applications with a thickness ≥ 25 mm in the form of a linear seal
- Rw 48 dB - One-sided applications with a thickness ≥ 50 mm in the form of a wide-area seal
- Rw 48 dB - Double-sided applications with a thickness ≥ 25 mm in the form of a wide-area seal
Fire assessment
- Up to 240 minutes, depending on the application
